We’ve partnered with the co-founders of Wakandacon and other notable Afrofuturists in the Chicago area to help explore Afrofuturism in the city where it was born. Join game designer Allen Turner in an immersive building-wide game inspired by the characters and worlds of Rayla 2212 and the all-new Eartha 2198, novels by Afrofuturist author Ytasha Womack. Check out a special panel including Ytasha and other Afrofuturist thinkers and scientists in a discussion surrounding dark matter, blackness, and brave spaces. Don’t miss a screening of A Love Letter to the Ancestors From Chicago and performances by guests DJs, dancers, and storytellers who will take you on this Afrofuturistic journey.
This inclusive experience will fuse art, (pop) culture, technology and science as we travel together to the Afrofuture—only at Adler After Dark.
